DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in EPU. Also seen are indications of trails, mixed in with metal flow lines on the ATES of STATES.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – curved die scratch next to the rim just below the date.
Reverse is LDS – die crack in the word UNUM to the last period. Die gouge to the left of the O in ONE.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the left top corners of the letters in EPU. Also seen are trail indications on the first T in the word STATES. The offset direction is 330 degree.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen on the lower left serif of the mint mark. Another small die gouge is seen on the lower right coat of Lincoln.
Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen to the left of the U in UNITED.
NOTE: This die was found by Michael Pope of Illinois.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension is seen under column 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. The offset direction is 200 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen on the coat line, even with the mint mark.
Reverse is MDS – a small die dot is seen over the left crossbar of the T in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: A strong wavy step die that shows step deviation under columns 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Notice how far the deviation of the stairs occurs, almost down to the bottom step. The offset direction is 190 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen to the right of the E in WE.
Reverse is MDS – vertical dies scratching is seen in all bays, with the strongest seen in bays 5, 6 and 7.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die scratches are seen just below the mint mark.
Reverse is LDS – three short die scratches are seen from the upper curve of the last S in STATES

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen high in the field over the 3 digit of the date.
Reverse is MDS – a die chip is seen in column 2

DESCRIPTION: Strong step deviation (wavy steps) is seen under columns 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Level distortion is seen in the styloabte under columns 11 and 12. The offset direction is 190º.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen just to the upper left of the 2nd nine digit in the date.
Reverse is MDS – two horizontal die scratches are seen in between the designer’s initials and the rim.
