DESCRIPTION: An unusual wavy step die SINCE it is shifted to the east and there is strong fluting line extension into the stylobate under columns 1 and 2. Moderate step deviation can be seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 170 degrees. There is also extension of design elements under the left post (urn) and the third block.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse die is LDS – die scratches under the collar.

Reverse is LDS – two die gouges on the lower part of the N in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die gouge under the left base of the memorial building. Die dot under the left side of the cross bar of the T in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MAKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – three groups of die dots around the Y of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – heavy die scratch from the first T of STATES to the L  of PLURIBUS.

DIE MAKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none observed.

Reverse is LDS – die chip on the roof edge under the E of EPU. Die scratch through the U and R of PLURIBUS.

DESCRIPTION: strong fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 1, with multiple fluting line extension under column 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 8.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die chip in the left post (urn). Die dot to the right of the E in ONE.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is EDS – none observed.

Reverse is LDS – die scrape from the bottom of UNITED, through column 1 and into bay 1. Die chip on the left edge of the cornice. Die chip in column 2. Die clash in bay 10. Die chip in column 11.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. This die was found by Patrick Gaughan of Penn.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – a group of die gouges between Lincoln’s hear and IN GOD.

Reverse is LDS. Moderate flow lines around the U of UNITED.
