DESCRIPTION: This is one of the more unusual trail dies that shows wide spread trail lines from numerous design elements. Using a PUP of the EPU, we can see lines from the tops of all the letters in that motto. The T and E of UNITED, the A, T and E of STATES, the F in the word OF and the AMERI of AMERICA all show the same directional lines. On the lower half of the die, the right corners of the stylobate, the F of the designer’s initials, the N and T of CENT and even the N and E of ONE have faint trails and distortion. Also showing the same directional lines are the tops of thee columns and the cornice. The offset direction for this die is 030 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die chip on the R of LIBERTY.
Reverse is LDS – die break on the left side of the left URN.
NOTE: This die was found by Bill Slaughter. This is a major die.
