DESCRIPTION: Moderate to strong trail lines can be seen on STATES, the left portion of the motto, protruding from the left roof and cornice, and from the protruding from the left memorial base. The offset direction is 270 degrees. This die is considered a Major.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – A small die dot. to the south of the date.

Reverse is MDS – A die crack to the lower right of the U of UNITED.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the bottom right corners of the RIB of PLURIBUS, the NUM of UNUM, the F in OF and the AMERI of AMERICA. This set of trail lines has an offset direction of 130 degrees. A reciprocal set of trail lines is seen on the top left corners of the NE of ONE. This set of trails has an offset direction of 220 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted

Reverse is LDS – die chip on the left corner of the cornice. Two small die gouges between the N and T of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: A massive trail die with both elements on the same die. Fluting line extension can be seen entering into the stylobate under column 2, 3, 10 and 11. Step deviation can be seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. Trail lines can be seen faintly on the bottom corners of the letters TATE of STATES. Slightly stronger trail lines are seen from some of the letters in EPU. Trail lines are also seen on the U of UNITED and the NE of ONE. The offset direction for all lines is 190 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse die is LDS – a small be dot can be seen between the I and N of IN. A die gouge is seen above the VDB.

Reverse die is LDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION: Faint trails are seen from the left top corners of the letters in EPU. Also seen are trail lines from the interior columns (3 through  8) and the Top left corner of the E in one (not pictured). The offset direction is 300 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “D”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is VLDS – the beginning of a die break is seen on the up part of column 2. Three die gouges are seen over and to the left of the O in ONE.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top  corners of the motto, certain letters in UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and ONE CENT.  Trails are also seen on the column tops. This set of trail lines has an offset direction 340 degrees. In addition, a few short trail lines is seen on the bottom of the letters ERI of AMERICA. This set of trails has an offset direction of 270 degrees.  Nearly all design elements on this coin has some indication of trails.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – Die gouges on both sides of  the G of GOD.

Reverse is MDS – A die chip shows next to the right planter. Evidence of a die clash is seen above the right planter in bay 9.  A die chip is seen on column 2. Two die gouges are seen under the N and between the N and T of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the middle letters of the EPU. Also seen are trail lines from the cornice. The offset direction is 310 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a spur is seen on the first 9 of the date.

Reverse is MDS – two small die chips are seen on the left top of the second and third column.

DESCRIPTION: A dual directional, combination trail die.  Trail lines are seen from the top left corners of the letters in the EPU and the left corners of the roof and cornice. The offset direction is 350 degrees. The other part of this combination is a wavy step with moderate step deviation seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Also seen is fluting line extension under column 3. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen above the T of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – two die gouges are seen just below the N of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top left corners of the letters in the EPU. Also seen are light trail lines from the cornice and left corner of the roof. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen next to the left side of column 5.

Another small die gouge is seen next to the rim, between the E and N of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen on the bottom left corners of the letters in AMERICA. Also seen are trail lines on the top left corners of the letters in CENT. The offset direction is 280 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted.

Reverse is LDS – strong, vertical die scratches are seen in bays 1, 2, 3, 4 and5. A die chip is seen on the left cornice edge.

DESCRIPTION: this is another die that has two sets of directional trails. The first set affects the word STATES and the left part of the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. This set has an offset direction of 060 degrees. The second set of trail lines can plainly be seen from the ERIC of AMERICA the right corner of the roof and cornice and the tops of columns 11 and 12. Also seen are trail lines from the bottom of the N in CENT. This set has an offset direction of 130 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is LEDS – none noted.

Reverse is LEDS – a die gouge is seen below the M of AMERICA. A die scratch next to the rim is seen to the right of the designer’s initials.
