DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen from the top of Lincoln’s ear, through the W of WE and into the rim. Two die scratches are seen, one through the L of LIBERTY and the other below the B of LIBERTY.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen into the central part of the stairs under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. Also seen is fluting lines under column 2 & 3. The offset direction is 190 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – light die scratches run parallel to the front of the face.
Reverse is EDS – A die clash remnant shows in bay 3.

DESCRIPTION: Trails can be seen from the top of the letters of the motto EPU, the ES of STATES, the word OF and the left corners of the stylobate. The offset direction is 330º.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a die crack is seen from Lincoln’s brow, up into his hair line and into the field below the E of WE.
Reverse is MDS – two die scratches are seen from the rim into the field below the right base of the Memorial building.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the ST of STATES. Distortion is seen on the top serifs of the letters STATES. Distortion is also seen on the left side periods and the tops of those letters in the motto EPU.

Reverse is MDS – a die clash event is seen on the reverse. The statue of Lincoln has a distorted head.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen under columns 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180º.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small die chip is seen on the upper left of the E in LIBERTY. A small die gouge is seen above the R in LIBERTY. Another die gouge is seen below Lincolns bust.
Reverse is MDS – vertical die scratching is seen in bays 2, 3 and 4. A die gouge is seen in the lower right of the N in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines can be seen from the motto EPU, the last S in STATES, the F in OF, the ER of AMERICA, the designer’s initials, the CE of CENT the tops of the columns and very lightly in the cornice scroll work. The offset direction is 330° for all trail lines.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen below the date, next to Lincoln’s coat edge.
Reverse is MDS – a small die chip is seen on top of the right side URN. Another very small die gouge is seen near the bottom of the I in UNITED.
