Reverse is MDS – old die gouge in bays 5 and 6.

DESCRIPTION: Strong fluting line extension under column 3 with a moderate fluting line extension under column 2. Light, but sharp, step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, with an offset direction of 190 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS three die gouges by the last T in TRUST.
Reverse is MDS – die crack over column 3. A die crack is forming on the left cornice tip.

DESCRIPTION: Very light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die dot under the I of IN
Reverse is MDS – die crack from the left corner of the cornice, through the E of UNITED and onto the rim.

DESCRIPTION: Strong fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 10 and 11. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 with an offset direction of 170 degrees.
NOTES: This die was discovered by Robert Tingle. This is one of the dies to show a relationship between design extension (trails) and wavy steps. Both the fluting lines and the trails are traveling in the same direction. This was the first die to carry a WST (wavy step / trail) designator.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – small prominent die dot on the end of Lincoln’s nose.
Reverse is LDS – design extensions on the ERICA of AMERICA and the right roof tip. Notching is seen on the upper terminus of the C in AMERICA. Die gouge in the upper part of the N of ONE.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed
Reverse is MDS – die gouge in the N of CENT. Die scratch between the U and N of UNITED. Die dot over the A of STATES.

DESCRIPTION: Light to moderate trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters of UNITED and the lower left corner of the E in EPU and the EN of CENT. The offset direction of the trails is 240 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed
Reverse is MDS – small die gouge under the D of UNITED. Horizontal die
scratch just above bays 7, 8 and 9 floors.
2000P-1DER-010T 050°
DESCRIPTION: Letter distortion, with notching and extension can be seen on the letters of STATES. Trail lines can also be seen on the right side of the letter N and T in CENT. The offset direction is 050º.

Reverse is MDS – die gouge in the upper part of bay 2. Light die scratching in bays 5 and 6.
