DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is VLDS – a small die dot is seen in the field in front of Lincoln’s brow. Die damage is seen above and to the right of the V.D.B.

Reverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen to the left of the O in ONE.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top of the letters in the motto EPU. Also seen are slight indications of trails from the left top of the columns. The offset direction is 330°

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – many small die dents are seen on the obverse die.

Reverse is LDS – two die gouges are seen to the left of the U in UNITED.

NOTE: This die was found by Cal Goddard.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen in two different directions on this trail die. The first set of trail lies, with an offset direction of 060º, is seen from the E and S of STATES and faintly on the motto EPU. The second set of trail lines, with an offset direction of 010º, is seen from the motto EPU and the cornice scroll work.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B“, obverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen between the D of GOD and the W of W. Also seen are small die gouges below the letters BER of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – none noted.
