DESCRIPTION: Trails are seen from two letters; the F in OF and the first A in AMERICA. There is some slight indication of trails on some of the letters in EPU. The offset direction is 300 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is EMDS – die crack in Lincoln’s hair, entering into the field below and to the left of WE. A small die gouge is seen over the B of LIBERTY.
Reverse is EMDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the left top corners of the letters in EPU. Also seen are trail lines on the last S of STATES and the left cornice and roof corners. All trail lines have an offset direction of 330 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is LEDS – die crack with die chips is seen on the back of Lincoln’s head.
Reverse is ELDS – die chip on the upper part of bay 1. Die crack into the cornice from column 7. Die gouge to the right of the I in UNITED.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen for the right side of the T in CENT. While this is a minor trail die, it is an interesting die since it is coupled with a reverse doubled die (see die markers). The offset direction is 090 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C” obverse is LDS – none noted.
Reverse is LDS – a die chip is seen in column one, along with die cracks on the top of columns 3 and 4 and a die crack on the top of the left post that travels into column 3.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180 degrees.
DIE MARKES: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – None noted.
Reverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen on the left side of the E in ONE. A series of small die gouges is seen between the NT of CENT.

Reverse is MDS – a die scratch is seen next to the rim above the right side of the second T in STATES.
