DESCRIPTION: Strong fluting lines, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3 with light fluting lines under columns 11 and 12. Moderate to strong step deviation under columns 5 through 9, with an offset direction of 200 degrees.
DIE MARKERS; Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – three older die gouges on Lincoln’s shoulder.
Reverse is MDS – light die scratch in the lower part of bay 3.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate, multiple fluting line extension, into the stylobate under columns 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 and 12. Light to moderate step deviation is seen under columns 4 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, with an offset direction of 180 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, Obverse is EDS – none noted
Reverse is EDS – a small die dot is seen in the lower part of bay 1
Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted
Reverse is MDS – circular die break on the right base of Memorial building. Die break on the right cornice edge.
NOTE: Stage “A” was found by Louis Schaeffer.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS– two small die scratches from the top of the L in LIBERTY.
Reverse is MDS – die gouge under T of UNITED.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2, 3 and 11 and light fluting line under column 12. Strong step deviation under columns # 5 through 8, with an offset direction of 190 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – heavy die scratches through the DATE, under LIBERTY and behind Lincoln’s neck
Reverse is LDS – very heavy die scratching throughout the entire reverse, especially around the AM of AMERICA.

Reverse is LDS – die chip on the left edge of the roof. Die gouge in the stylobate under column 1.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the left top of the letters in EPU and OF. Trail lines are also seen in AMERICA, the last S of STATES, the NE of ONE, the designer’s initials and the left URN. The offset direction for all trails is 330º. This die was found by Jeremy Gardner of Kentucky
