DESCRIPTION: This is a dual directional trail die with reciprocal bearings. The first set of trails can be seen from the upper right corners of the UNI of UNITED. The other set can be seen from the lower left corners of ITE of UNITED. The offset directions are 320 and 140 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted
Reverse is MDS – an old die gouge is seen to the left and above the O in ONE. Two die scratches are seen from the top of the E in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trail lines are seen from the right side of the letters in CENT. The offset direction is 090 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “D”, obverse is VLDS –none noted.
Reverse is VLDS – a die chip is seen on the left side of the left URN.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – a die gouge is seen above the B of LIBERTY.
Reverse is LDS – a die break with a die crack is seen between the U and N of UNUM.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in the EPU, the TES of STATES and the ERI of AMERICA. The offset direction is 350 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – a die gouge is seen above the I of IN. A die dent is seen behind the nape of Lincoln’s neck.
Reverse is LDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the bottom of the E and N of CENT. The offset direction is 090 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen in the field below the IB of LIBERTY.
Reverse is TERMINAL – a large die crack is seen from above the O in OF down through the Lincoln memorial building and terminating at the lower leg of the C in CENT. Although the die crack is thin, this die will not last long and will be replaced.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen entering the stylobate under columns 1, 2, 3, 11 and 12. Step deviation is seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen under the E of AMERICA. Another small die dot is seen to the left and under the T of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the NE of ONE and the word CENT. The offset direction is 090°.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – two long vertical die scratches are seen from the R and Y of LIBERTY. Strong die scratches are seen above the 19 and below the 4 of the date.
Reverse is MDS – a die crack with a die chip begins in the first U of UNUM crosses over the N and ends in the second U of UNUM.

DESCRIPTION: Fluting line extension can be seen under columns 2, 3, 10, 11 and 12. Step deviation can be seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180°.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – a curved die scratches can be seen above the LIB of LIBERTY. A vertical die scratch can be seen above the first 9 digit of the date.
Reverse is LDS – a diagonal die scratching can be seen in all bays. A die chip is seen in the middle of column12. A die scratch is seen in the right side of the cornice.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in the motto EPU. The offset direction is 060°
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is MDS – none noted
Reverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen on the lower right side of the N in ONE. A die crack is seen from the corner formed by the vertical to the roof and the right side of the cornice. This die crack travels through the R of AMERICA and onto the rim.
