DESCRIPTION: An unusual die even for a trail die. Ramped design extension, with distortion and faint trails on the letter tops of EPU. Short, heavy, trail lines is seen on the two Ts and the E of STATES. Light trail line is seen from the bottom terminus of the last S in STATES. Ramped design extension with trail lines from the tops of the letters OF. Notice the extra thickness and blurred appearance of the letters on the top portion of this die when compared to the sharp, well defined lettering in ONE. Although it is not unusual for trail and even wavy step dies to affect only certain parts of the die, it is a bit unusual to see such a contrast between design elements. The offset direction for the trail lines is 350 degrees.
