DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 2 with a moderate fluting line extension under column 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 8, with an offset direction of 200 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge under lapel’s button hole. Two die dots lower on the lapel.

Reverse is MDS – light die scratches above the word PLURIBUS.

NOTE: This is a fairly strong trail die and considered to be a major. This die was found by Robert Tingle.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die gouge to the left of the word IN.

Reverse is LDS – die damage in bays 3 and 5. Die crack in column 1 and into the field. Die crack in column 2.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 3 with light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B” – obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die crack in cornice over bays 2 and 3. Die dot on the inner curve of the C in AMERICA.

Reverse is MDS – die scratching beneath the word UNUM.

Reverse is VLDS – small die gouge to the right of the O in ONE.  A small die gouge is seen on the right side of the T in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Strong fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 1, 2 and 3. Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 11 and 12 Strong step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 190 degrees. This is one of the stronger wavy step trail dies for the 2000 decade.

Reverse is MDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 7, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge in the first 0 of the date.

Reverse is MDS – small die gouge on the middle arm of the E in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Strong fluting line extension is seen entering into the stylobate under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 190 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none noted.

Reverse is EDS – a die chip is forming in the upper left corner of bay 1.
