DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – rim gouge between GOD and WE.
Reverse is MDS – die chip with die crack in the upper part of column 1. Die gouge under the N of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7, with an offset direction of 190 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge in the first0 of the date.
Reverse is MDS – die scratches in all bays, but most prominent bays 5, 6 and 7.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. Light step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 7, with an offset direction of 190 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – two die gouges next to the rim above the L in LIBERTY.
Reverse is LDS – die crack in column 1that branches off into the cornice.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 7, with an offset direction of 200 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge in the field above the I and B of liberty.
Reverse is MDS – small, prominent die dot on the lower right side of column 11. Die chip on the upper part of column 2.

DESCRIPTION: Light to moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.
Reverse is MDS – die crack from the top of the left URN into column 3. Small die gouge is seen to the left of the T in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die cracks are seen in Lincoln’s forehead.
Reverse is MDS – extra 6th column, with extra knees.
NOTE: A doubled die due to the extra knees and 6th column.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 8, with an offset direction at 200 degrees.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge next to the rim to the left of the L in LIBERTY. Small die dot is sen on the bridge of Lincoln’s nose.
Reverse is MDS – none observed.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 190º.
DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is LMDS – die cracks with a chip in Lincoln’s hair.
Reverse is LMDS – die crack in the field to the left of the E in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Faint trails from the tops of the letters in EPU, strongest on the right side. The second picture was taken with low intensity light which helps define the trail lines better. The offset angle is 020º.
The only other indicator that this is a trail die is the distortion seen on the word OF.
